DIOR AND I & SPRING 2015 MAKE UP

I think its very exciting times for DIOR, don't you? 

With Raf Simons as their new creative director and Peter Philips hopping from the other great house (wasn't that a scandal?!) to ride the high waves... sigh...

the fashion industry is forever filled with drama. I think beauty and vanity go hand in hand with drama, always.

But wherever you are Mr Philips, I will forever be a huge fan to your creativity and lucky opportunities!

You NEED to watch the docudrama, DIOR AND I. 

Was so privileged to have been invited to experience (and be inspired) by Raf Simons. It's about his transition into DIOR and doing Haute Couture for the very first time. All the pressures he felt, finding his inspirations along the way, the stress of the atelier team and the final relief of the audience applauding to his art.

I got goosebumps just typing it out now.

The Kingdom of Colors

The DIORSHOW Kohl Retractable Liners can be used as an eyeliner or smudged out into a smokey eyeshadow. Beautiful and easy to manipulate.

And of course, The Cheek and Lip Glow.

I never leave home without having applied my 'insurance' make up. 

When the lipstick fades and the powders sweat away, I'm still left with a pink hue, phew!

CHANEL SPRING 2015 MAKE UP

Finally got my hands on Chanel.

There are 2 big houses that come up with the most fabulous, perfect cosmetics for all women and Chanel is definitely one of them.
In my eyes, I really don't think anyone can ever compete with them.
They create make up into a luxe item, something every woman would like to carry in their handbags. And they not only look good, they come up with exciting, useable make up. 

DIOR AUTUMN MAKE UP 2014

DIOR Fall 2014 is out. Already! 

This season, DIOR has repackaged their Iconic 5 Shadow Palette. 

Its Sleeker and shows the colour palette on the underside, great for us make-up artists. 

Now we don't have to open every single palette to find a colour. 

The other excitement is the DIOR Addict line that used to only consist of lip glosses. This is now expanded to mascara and eyeliner. 

The electric blue mascara and hot pink eyeliner shown in pic is a seasonal shade but the standard black and brown will be permanently for sale.

Out of 13 colour palettes, DIOR has picked 5 for this Fall and my favourite is 876 Trafalgar. 

This is also their Autumn look for 2014 so its not a permanent palette.

LAURA MERCIER SUMMER 2014

I really like Laura Mericer and I understand how she has a cult following all around the world. Laura Mercier's packaging is simple, nothing too fancy but silently attractive and kinda serious.

Women who wear Laura Mercier know make-up and are definite about the things they want. Young women who start with Laura Mericer have an idea to the definite things that they want.

Her colours are always wearable. Eyeshadows are never too glittery or crazy drama, instead more earthy and matte. And some with a hint of shine. Lipstick shades are deep, even intense or subtly nude and sheer. 

This season's lipstick- Temptation is super sexy and Lip Glaze- Garnet is the best shade to wear daily. I wore it on the beach with some sunscreen and loved it!

The Body Bronzing Powder stays on skin and not on clothes but I really have yet to try it out in our humid, mucky weather.

Her new High Coverage Concealer for Under eye takes a speck to do its job. It'll even cover a tattoo.

CHANEL SUMMER 2014

Chanel does perfectly well without Peter Philips. 

This summer's shades are sexy, easy to use and best of all, suit all skin tones.

Nail polishes are always fun and the one that struck me most was 'Eastern Light'. 

White nails. 

Kinda reminds me of school days when we were bored and painted our nails with liquid paper haha.

Lippy shades L'amoureuse and La Malicieuse are soooo nice.

Every woman must have a Chanel lipstick. It's such luxury in a stick and I do love the click to pop up stick.

Matte and bright. On a beautiful bare face. On the beach. Hawt!

The cream eyeshadow is beautiful too. 'Mirage'

A bronze that will make you look super for a night out.

And the 'Cheeky' cream blush, which u can double up and use for contouring.

I got tingles down my spine mmmm.

Get ready to blow your budget this sumner!

Oh ya and not forgetting,

Chanel has a new liquid foundation, Perfection Lumiere Velvet. It is truly perfection. 

Especially for our tropical climate. 

It leaves skin matte but gives a nice sheer glow. 

Phwoar! Very very nice I tell you.

The Importance of NARS. Summer 2014

How cool can you get? Seriously. NARS is definitely creating a cult following. The generosity it has shown is unbelievable too. NARS is shining and I think a lot of thanks goes to Shiseido. The brand was already hawt originally and since being bought by powerful, Shiseido, it is exploding like a champagne supernova.

Shading and blush sticks are an artist's dream. Texture is creamy and easy to blend. 

Gipsy lippy is my new fave everyday shade. 

Brushes are updated and make so much sense when using.

I just can't say anymore. NARS, you have outdone yourself once again and I have a major crush.

DIOR SUMMER SEXY 2014

This summer DIOR is sexy hawt exciting. 

From a bright range of nail colours to perk you right up to the comfortable glossy fluid lippy sticks. (I kept it on for half a day and it felt so light and un-sticky). 

Bright pinks and oranges, wear them with a bare face for a current look or with a fully made up face for a night out, stunning!

Another stunner is the cobalt blue Manucure Transat that comes with stickers to add. That is so ultimately cruise. I have yet to give it a try on how easy it is to use. 

And the star of the season? The 5 colour eyeshadow palette is to die for! 3 shades of Blues to smoke up your eyes, accompanied with a brown to bring them out and a silver to highlight. Everything a girl on the prowl needs!

Sephora Spring 2014

NEW EXCITING PRODUCTS ARE COMING TO A SEPHORA NEAR YOU!

Marc Jacob's is the latest newbie in Singapore. Really fun packaging, heavy glass bottles and shiny black cases. 

Tarte is my personal favourite. Innovative, cruelty free make up.

Too Faced has a wonderful Chocolate block palette that smells so divine you want to eat it up and a bullet-proof brow kit that really is impossible to wipe off, great for those overnighters who don't want to wake up without their brows to a stranger.

Sephora has come up with a 2 prong mascara wand! Can be tricky I think. Will test it out soon!

Make Up Forever has lovely cream blushers in a million shades.

Soap & Glory's puffy eye attack is going on my eyes for testing ASAP.

And so is the Propolis serum by Pure Heals from Korea.

Boscia's foaming make up remover oil made from the Camellia flower is also a hit for me. Tried it at the event with a charcoal sponge they have produced, very nice!

And of course Percy & Reed, you are the nicest smelling haircare product in the universe.

NARS Spring 2014

NARS is the cool kid. The one that doesn't need much effort to be cool and admired. My favourite this season is the Multiple bronze stick. So nice to contour and enhance a tan.

I think the thing I like most about NARS is using my fingers to apply the products. Textures, brightness of colour pigments, shimmers, glossiness. What you see is what you get.

Chanel Spring 2014 Make Up

When I went to Chanel to get my stash of Spring colours, my first question was 'I wonder what the make up is going to look like with Peter Philips gone?'

Well, Chanel is Chanel. It is one of the strongest, most iconic brands in the world. Every woman wants a Chanel bag and I know there are fanatics that collect the season's make up religiously.

It definitely has the most sophisticated packaging to me.

Here's whats in store! Get ready to burn a hole in your pocket.

Dior Spring 2014 Make Up

Dior definitely took the prize for most exciting spring/ summer make up this year. And I'm having trouble using them! Everything is so pretty I don't want to ruin it.

3 products that I found very useful were the primers. One for pore minimising and mattifying, another for glow and the last for the eyes. 

Eye primers are great to use for clients that are on the go. Like brides for example. 

It holds eye make up in place and prevents smudging and smearing.

And here is the limited edition palette. So pretty!

And if you're only into blushers and not eye shadows, the Trianon Blush Edition. Also just as pretty.

My Bioderma Crush. L.O.V.E

I have never heard of Bioderma till they generously invited me to a skincare event launch! Shameful is what I felt cause Bioderma has a super cult following of celebrities and top models. Honestly, it is really hard keeping up with the endless amounts of skincare this world has.

but I am so thankful Bioderma has introduced itself to me cause I am not living another day without it! 

The Micelle Solution, a clear bottle, filled with what looks like plain water is the most amazing cleanser! No, I'm not getting a commission from them : ) but really, this pure H20 water is amazing! It removes everything! Even some waterproof make up. 

And for us lazies, you don't need to follow with soap and water! Just some toner and your skincare routine after is enough.

2013 Christmas Shopping at Sephora- My Picks Part 2

OMG! I have products overload! I have so much to go through and try, how??? Keep calm and carry on. I'll do the Christmas list first and move on to the other exciting products lying by my side now that just arrived : ). Excitment!!!

Okay okay Sephora Christmas shopping list part deux

This brand, Fresh, has been in Sephora since the beginning of the store opening in Singapore. I really like it. Last few years, during the x'mas events, Fresh had a booth with all their porducts sprawled out and all who were invited got to pick any item on the table! And that included the x'mas hampers too! Well, that was how I got to know the products. 

The tinted Sugar lip balms are great. They tend to melt in our climate sometimes (eg. leaving them in the hot car) but will harden in an AC room. 

Here are my picks.

The brown sugar polish is divine! The moisturizer smells wonderful after working that scrub, and the cherry shade Sugar lipgloss works great for an everyday lippy ($73)

This one makes a good inexpensive gift at $43.00. All for pampering one's lips

Now. For all the hardcore make-up users, the ones who know their stuff. Here are some exciting products. First up, Stila. The Stay all Day liquid eyeliner set is king. 4 of the most used colors in a tin box. ($70)

Next up is Urban Decay. Not to be taken lightly, this make-up brand is serious when it comes to color and intensity! The second vice palette is sexy! Check out the shade Voodoo! And my other fave is Damaged. So good! ($88)

Now to the hair department. My 2 favorite haircare products Living Proof and Percy & Reed.

They smell soooooo good and I love it when my head smells nice and not fowl and oily eeeee!

Percy & Reed's No Oil oOil is WOW! My hair stays smelling so yummy until the next wash. This is a great package ($50)

2013 Christmas Shopping at Sephora- My Picks Part 1

It has taken me a long time to open up that duffel bag of goodies from Sephora since bringing it home. Too many products too little time! (jealous : ) ?) But ladies, I have to show you some of the goodies you might like to get your BFFs.

Last year, I bought Clarisonics http://www.clarisonic.com/ from Sephora for Christmas gifting. They made so much difference to my skin I had to share them!

This year, I'll be going back to my favorite beauty emporium for more pressies. Here are some exciting stuff.

Soap & Glory always make great gift packs that come in attractive bags. Products are fun to use, for example Sexy Mother Phucker ($35)

This Lip plumping gloss REALLY works! It kinda feels like being stung by bees all over lips and makes lips fuller and less wrinkly. 

And of course the great gift packs that are so cool I will buy them for myself! The bubble will retail for $48.00. and the mother of them all, The Yule Monty for $148.00

Heel Genius is amazing! I've been using it nightly for about 2 years now and everytime I go to the manicurist, I never need them to use the shaving instrument on me. 

Another really fun brand is Too Faced, the brand with the best mascara in the world ; ). At the event they gave out iphone covers and these covers were filled with make-up! Great product concept! And retails for $34.00. Great price!

And this is us at the NARS event a few days later all using the same covers! So fun!

Here's another one I love (and got in my duffel bag!)

The perfect gift for girls who love wearing make-up and also for those who are kinda clueless! With a tutorial page, you really can't go wrong. ($59)

For fragrance lovers, Repetto has come up with a lovely one. Tried it at the event but it wasn't in with the rest of my goodies : (. But it was lovely!

Jennifer Aniston (!!!) co-owns this haircare brand and the brand has been founded by a team of scientists, backed by celebrity Editorial stylists including Chris McMillan. THE guy behind Jennifer Aniston's luscious locks. 

The same guy that gave Jennifer the best hair in the world status! 

 With smooth matte finish bottles in cool shades of neutrals, the packaging looks serious. There's a distinct scent, very pleasant and I love my hair smelling this divine.

I made a bee-line towards the anti-frizz section.

Like it seriously works!

But seriously, HOW can one go wrong with all the right business moves and the right technology???

Very impressive and you will be taken very seriously LIVING PROOF!

Introducing TARTE The Hot New brand In Town!

Yesterday Christmas came early for all the Beauty Eds and Make-Up Artists! 

The yearly Sephora Christmas event showcasing what's to come for the festive season was held at Scape. 

You can really tell our age as the bunch of us had never stepped into that mall and looked like lost goats when bumping into each other in the halls. Was funny!

Well, just to rub it in, we got to take home a duffel bag of goodies and MORE from the generous brands that were there.
 : )

There were a few items that found my fancy straight away. So let's go straight to TARTE! This brand actually didn't catch my attention until upon closer inspection.

Diligently, we stood by and watched Brian Granoff, the Senior Regional Education Manager explain the beauty of this brand. He's good! The products fantastic and we were impressed!

TARTE was born 1999 in NYC. The founder developed a cheek stain in her one bedroom apartment and since then has developed a full range of 'high-performance natural' make-up.

Fully against animal testing, the products are made without the use of nasty chemicals and branding themselves as healthy make-up.

One of the exciting products, the Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation comes in an awesome loose powder container, with a brush that you blend onto skin, creating an airbrush effect foundation without the need of a machine.

I must also add the cleverness of this packaging. The loose powder comes with a built in stopper under the lid to prevent messy powder falling everywhere! Genius!

Another product that I tried today was the 'Lights, Camera, Flashes' Mascara. Take a look:

That was one coat. I like it! And I like that its formulated without parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate and synthetic fragrances. The wand was easy to use. One side was the brush to apply and the other side a comb to separate lashes. Pretty cool!

So I give a big thumbs up to this new spunky brand! Oh! And thank you for the cool Cosmetics Clutches! XXX
